Where Training Saves Lives

Our Mission

What We Teach

Our focus is to provide the public safety professional with the skills and knowledge for real-world swift water emergencies.  Through team building and hands-on training, students will learn: boat operations, rope rescue systems, reaching rescue, swimming “Go” rescues, search techniques and other important life-saving skills.  Our instructors are the best in the business and their top priority is delivering real world skills and the safety of our students.  With each student’s successful completion of our course, they will meet the requirements of NFPA 1006 and 1670 Technician Level for Swiftwater Rescue.

WHERE WE TRAIN

Our training site of the St. Joseph River and East Race Waterway provide a multifaceted training ground all in one location. The St. Joseph River, with its L-shaped dam and varying terrain, create unique challenges for boat and shore based rescue operations. The East Race Waterway is the first, and only flow-diversion, artificial white water course in North America. With an unlimited adjustment of flow, the East Race provides a controlled learning environment for many different rescue scenarios.

Who We Train

Fire fighters will need this class if river operations is part of your department’s job requirements.  This class is meant to teach those that have water rescue as part of their job description and would benefit their community with having this training.

At times it becomes evident that a first responder is needed to do rescue operations in order to save a life that may not be saved without their technical know-how / expierence in helping others. This class would help round them out more, and give their department another added addition to help their community.

Dive and drag teams are often used by the police. Sometime it is important to make sure that the dive team is able to carry out water recues as well. This can be a valuable asset to all communities and give the ability to work closely with the community to make certain that they are safer.
